Volunteers needed for the 23rd Africa Human Rights Moot Court Competition to be held in Kenya for the first time.The Africa Human Rights Moot Court Competition is the largest annual congregation of law students and lecturers from all over Africa. This year the competition will be hosted by the University of Nairobi, in conjunction with the Centre of Human Rights of the University of Pretoria.
The dates of the competition are 1st to 6th of September 2014. The organizing committee of the University of Nairobi Law School is seeking volunteers to assist with receiving participants at the airport, coordinating logistics, planning entertainment activities, acting as court bailiffs, and lending a hand to ensure the success of the event.
All University of Nairobi students from all campuses are eligible to volunteer. Students from Universities in Kenya or elsewhere, with specific knowledge of French and Portuguese are highly encouraged to volunteer.
The first volunteers’ meeting and orientation will be on 7th July, 2014, from 2:00 p.m. at the School of Law, Parklands campus, in the Prof. Okoth-Ogendo Boardroom.
All volunteers will be awarded certificates of participation signed by the presiding judges in the final rounds.
